Our Facilities

Books Library
JVP is equipped with a state of the art book library, at Tilak Smarak Mandir. It boasts a collection of 500+ books in Marathi, English and some trasncripts along with the periodicals like Sky & Telescope, Astronomy, etc.

Telescope Library
We have a collection of many Astronomical Telescopes. Just like a book library, members can borrow a telescope from JVP's Telescope library. This facility can be availed by members living in Pune and having completed at least 6 month membership

Observation facility
Kesariwada Observatory is used for scientific observations of celestial objects & is often utilized for research Projects. Projects include Variable Star, Occultations and meteor shower observations. There is also a team for guiding M.Sc projects.

Star Gazing
JVP organizes overnight Stargazing sessions every month around the new moon (except monsoons) and our members also visit schools/institutes for invited stargazing sessions, which could be mini-starparty or an overnight session.
