JVP has a collection of Astronomical Telescopes. Just like a book library, members can borrow a telescope from JVP. While this service is free, a refundable deposit of Rs.500/- will have to be deposited.
These are the Terms of this service:
- One should be a regular member (life/annual/student) of Jyotirvidya Parisanstha for at least six months.
- There will be refundable deposit of Rs. 500/-.
- A Telescope can be borrowed for a maximum duration of one month.
- In case of any damage or lost items, the member has to bare the cost of repairs or replacement.
- Two eyepieces will be included with the Telescope
- A small training session on “How to use the Telescope” is mandatory.
- JVP reserves the right to allow/deny access to the telescope library facility.

- 5″ Newtonian
- 5″ Newtonian
- 6″ Newtonian
- 6″ Newtonian with equatorial mount
- Small radio telescope for sun observation
- Adapters- Cellphone, T-Rings
