Jyotirvidya Parisanstha has arranged a one-day study tour to the Alibag Geomagnetic Observatory and Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai, on Friday, 15th May 2026, from 5 am to 10 pm. Attractions: - Visit to India's oldest Geomagnetic Observatory in Alibaug - Travel by Ferry from Alibaug(Mandwa) to Mumbai - Planetarium Show at Nehru Planetarium, Mumbai

Timing:

5:00 am to 10:00 pm

Assembly points:

Pick up point 1 : Reporting time at JVP Office, Tilak Smarak Mandir, Sadashiv Peth, Pune-30 is 4:45 am IST sharp.

Pick up point 2: Reporting Time at Prem Steel Center, Yashoda Colony, Wakad is 5:30 am IST

Return to Pune at 10:00 pm IST

Fees:

Fees: Rs. 2550/- for JVP Members
Rs. 2700/- for Non-Members.

(Fees include AC Vehicle Travel from Pune-Alibaug-Mumbai-Pune, Veg Food(Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Tea) and charges for planetarium show.)

I hereby accept that I am participating in Jyotirvidya Parisanstha (JVP) program on my own responsibility.
Program may change because of unforeseen reasons and JVP will not be held responsible for the same.
Fees for the tour once paid will not be refunded.
During the tour all participants should obey all the instructions & decisions taken by the organizers.
In case of any accident/ death or loss/ damage of valuable/ luggage or any equipment, JVP will not be responsible & no claims of the participants will be entertained.
I will not abscond without informing organizers.
Transportation cost may increase due to sudden increase in Diesel prices.
Travel between Pune Alibaug and Back will be by bus, also there will be ferry travel from Alibaug to Mumbai.
Pure Veg. food will be provided during the tour.
Consumption of alcohol as well as smoking is strictly prohibited during the entire tour.
We are visiting research institutes and so one should take all the care not to disturb any of the research activity going on in the institute and maintain cleanliness and decorum.
This is a study tour and we have taken appointments of all observatories and hence everyone is expected to follow timings strictly.

Things to Carry? Water Bottle, Cap, Umbrella. Kindly carry your Govt. ID cards with you, and also carry your own medications, if any. Shoes are compulsory.

AC Travel from Pune to Alibaug-Mumbai and back to Pune, Breakfast, Lunch, Travel by Ferry from Alibaug (Mandwa) to Mumbai, Evening Tea and Snacks as well as Observatory and Nehru Planetarium show fees. Please note that all food served will be VEG only.
