Astronomy Workshop for Kids

Activities covered: • Slide shows: Introduction to astronomy, solar system, eclipses, telescopes, cosmology, space science • Astronomical model making • Sun observation through a telescope, sun dial (solar clock) •Night sky watch with many activities.

Per head charge for JVP members Rs. 3200 (Covers transport on day 1 to the site, food, stay, activity kit)
Per head charge for JVP non-members Rs. 3500 (Covers transport on day 1 to the site, food, stay, activity kit)
Per head charge for parents(Day 2) Rs. 350 (covers lunch on day 2)

About the Event

Astronomy workshop for kids 2025
Age group: 8 to 12 years

Dates: 25-26 October 2025 (two days, one night)
Venue: Manali Agro farms (Map link)

Schedule:
Day 1: Reporting time: 7:30 AM on 25th October 2025 at Tilak Smarak Mandir.
(Bus will leave sharp at 8:00 AM. Latecomers will have to come on their own to the site.

Day 2: Parent(s) will pick up the kid(s).
Parents must join the event at Manali Argo farms at 12:00 PM, followed by lunch and an exhibition activity by the kids. The program will end at 3:00 PM. Kids will return along with their parents. (No transport arrangements from JVP)

Is it cold, & Do I need to wear shoes and warm clothes? Yes

Is there a place to sleep? Yes, there is sufficient accommodation for kids.

Do we need to bring food? No. Hi-tea and dinner will be provided (charges included), but keep some dry snacks with you if you like.

What if there is bad weather? We have Plan B activities ready. However, the fees will not be refunded, and the program may change.

Is there a mobile phone range on site? Yes.
