Astronomy Workshop For Kids:
Age group: 8 to 14 years
Dates: 27-28 April 2024 (two days one night)
Venue: Manali Agro farms (Map link)
Schedule:
Day 1: Reporting time: 7:30 AM on 27th April 2024, bus leaves to site at 8:00 am sharp, full day activities followed by Skywatch in the evening.
(Bus will leave sharp at 8:00 AM. Late comers will have to come on their own to the site)
Day 2: Parent(s) will pick up kid(s) from the site. Parents can join the event at Manali Agro farms at 11:00 AM and for lunch followed by exhibition activity by kids. Program will end at 4:00 PM
Activities covered:

• Slide shows: Introduction to astronomy, solar system, eclipses, telescopes, cosmology, space science
• Astronomical model making
• Sun observation through telescope, sun dial (solar clock)
• Telescope making (optional): 2 inch refractor telescope making. Charges: Rs. 2600. This activity is optional

Charges:

• Per head charge for JVP members Rs. 2800 (Covers transport on day 1 to the site, food, stay, activity kit)
• Per head charge for non members Rs. 3000 (Covers transport on day 1 to the site, food, stay, activity kit)
• Telescope making (optional) Rs. 2600 (Covers kit for 2 inch refractor telescope)
• Per head charge for parents Rs. 350 (covers lunch on day 2)
